Research Post 7: Exergames Effects on Children

One study I found in my research demonstrated, in a different manor in previous studies as these did not take place in a laboratory setting, that children were not prone to become more active through the use or availability of exergames.  In this study, children ages nine to twelve were given a Wii and either two active or two non active games.  After monitoring the children over 5 weeks, the results showed that the participants were not more prone to be active.  I found several issues with the interpretations and manners in which this study was conducted, however there were some valid points made in the findings of this study that will ultimately be useful in completing my research paper.
