In the same article, I also came across something called HI FIVES (Highly Interactive Fun Internet Virtual Environments In Science). This is a program that teachers can use to create video games to use in their classrooms. Not only do the students learn from the game that is being created but they are also taught how to create video games too. HI FIVES has a drag and drop graphical user face that makes it possible to create video games without any knowledge of 3D art or programming. It is a great hands on way for students to learn topics in math and science and can even be used as a virtual lab. I thought this was really cool and I could use it in my paper when I discuss how video games are already being used in some educational systems and are working.
